How To Get Pearls In Animal Crossing

How to get pearls in Animal Crossing might not be amongst your top ten concerns of the day but if the game has you totally hooked into it, we will make sure we leave no stone unturned to prepare you for it!

Freshly introduced Pearls (recent July update) can be found in the deepest parts of the vast ocean and have a few advantages to themselves too! This new crafting material will sometimes be acquired by trading scallops with Pascal.

Still don’t know how to find these pearls? Keep reading to find out all you need to know about them!

Why Bother About Pearls?

Who doesn’t love pearls right? They are small, pretty, and have an extraordinary ability to make the wearer look stunning. But vain humans only ever use pearls to adorn themselves or to signify their social status.

Thankfully the situation in Animal Crossing is a bit less materialistic and more fun! For now, the pearls in Animal Crossing will only help you with a couple of things. It actually works well for us when we consider it’s scarcity.

Firstly, these pearls can be used as crafting materials in recipes for the new Mermaid Series of furniture. There are 14 different Mermaid items you can craft with pearls and if you intend to craft each one of them you will have to collect 20 pearls in total!

Using Pearls To Decorate your home in Animal Crossing

You can also sell these pearls for 10,000 Bells to Timmy and Tommy. This move is not really recommended as pearls are just as scarce and valuable as gold and are worth more when used as crafting material. Last but not the least, these pearls can be used to decorate both your home and island.

Adding pearls to your home or your island will help you set them apart and completely bedazzle anyone who visits it. Although pearls are rare they are not yet regarded as Sea Creatures. You will not be able to donate them to museums or collect them in your Critterpedia either.

Diving Deep In Search

The wide and vast ocean is a shy secret keeper of many secrets. Each wave is a welcoming touch, each ray bouncing off its surface, a gift in itself.

Underneath the ever-changing tides and waves, a world devoid of proper sunlight thrives. Under the ocean lies a beauty that can only be compared to the heavens above. But take heed it’s secrets are as vicious as serene.

Dive deep into Poseidon’s kingdom in your favorite Wet Suit to find these pearls. They will bubble up in a straight line.

Trading Them With Pascal

Get Pearls in Animal Crossing By Trading Them With Pascal

You will also be able to acquire these pearls by trading scallops with Pascal. You can turn your scallop into a pearl by trading it with Pascal!

Players will not be able to control what Pascal gives them or trades with them but if you hunt down scallops every day you will be able to trade them with Pascal. You can also time travel to get pearls by trading quicker. Pascal is a red otter with a thing for scallops.

Whenever you find yourself with scallops, Pascal will appear almost immediately to trade it with something else. To find scallops you would have to first purchase a Wet Suit. Scallops can be found anytime in the year, making your ordeal a whole lot easier.

It might take you a bit of time to get a scallop but be patient and hang around. When you find a scallop you will also find Pascal nearby.

Now accept the trade he offers you and get listed items with a free quote. This is a frustratingly tiresome method but it works!

Finding Pearls

Spotting pearls will require you to pay attention to a few things. When you are swimming or diving looking for pearls, you can follow a few tips to make sure you find them.

One way to spot a pearl is to look for its shadow. The shadow of a pearl is very small but it will never move. Pay attention to the bubble behavior of the creatures in the sea. The pearls are also characterized by the low amount of bubbles rising from the seafloor.

These bubbles will mostly be in a straight linear pattern moving upwards. These bubbles do not move side to side so make sure you spot the signs clearly.

Is Pearl Farming Possible?

Alas, pearl farming is not really possible. It is not an official option and is not a viable option that you can go for.
