The first and foremost difference in both these games is the setting. The former is set in the Deserts of North Africa and the latter is set in Italy. Another difference between these two games is the level design. While Sniper Elite 3 follows a more linear path, just like its predecessors, in the level design, Sniper Elite 4 has an almost Open World feel providing the players with more freedom to do missions their own way. The massive worlds made for each level in Sniper Elite 4 create a more realistic and immersive experience for the players.

While Sniper Elite III was not critically acclaimed it did improve upon a lot of the mechanics of the previous Sniper Elite Games. However, it was Sniper Elite 4 that perfected every aspect of the franchise.

The satisfaction of getting to shoot some of the truly evil men in the history of the world from miles away can be considered to be another highlight of Sniper Elite IV over III.

There is also some significant improvement in the lighting effects in Sniper Elite IV when being compared to the previous games of the franchise and also Sniper Elite IV offers players a longer draw distance which allows players to shoot enemy NPCs from a long distance which makes for a pretty cool Kill Cam sequence.

Since Sniper Elite 4 is a later installment of the franchise and is a newer release with improvements, obviously, the price of the game would also be more when compared to Sniper Elite 3 which is the earlier installment in the franchise.

Currently, Sniper Elite III is $9.37 on Steam and Sniper Elite IV is $15.15.

So, the price-wise battle of Sniper Elite 3 vs 4, is dominated by Sniper Elite III. But the amount of content you get to play with Sniper Elite IV is actually worth it.

Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition vs Sniper Elite 4

The major and only difference between the Standard Edition vs the Ultimate Edition of Sniper Elite III is that the Ultimate Edition comes with all the Downloadable Content Or DLCs such as 3 extra missions in the single-player mode titled “Save Churchill” along with a few extra weapons and outfits. The only exception is that the “Hunt for the Grey Wolf” DLC is not available as it was a pre-order Bonus.

The Ultimate Edition is a good option to buy as all the downloadable content alone goes up to 30 US Dollars which will be available for free in the Ultimate Edition.

Other than the presence of Downloadable content and a few extra Single Player missions there’s not much addition to Sniper Elite III: Ultimate Edition from the Standard Edition. So, a comparison of both the Ultimate Edition and Sniper Elite IV will be the same as the comparison between the standard edition and 4 since there is no graphical or gameplay improvement in Ultimate Edition from the Standard Edition.
