His sprite color keeps changing to various tones of purple, pink, and sometimes even orange. Remember that his attire looks purple only when he is in shadows. It is confirmed that Mr. Afton has a cleft chin and according to the way he is depicted he probably has a very evil smile on his face. William Afton might also have dark brown hair.

It’s only now that I understand the depth of the depravity of this creature, this monster that I unwillingly helped to create. As if what he had already done wasn’t enough, he found a new way to desecrate, to humiliate, to destroy. As if the suffering wasn’t enough, the loss of innocence, the loss of everything to so many people. Small souls trapped in prisons of my making now set to new purpose and used in ways I never thought imaginable. He lured them all back. Back to a familiar place. Back with familiar tricks. He brought them all together.

Information about Afton has not been made readily available. Whatever information has been compiled about him is pieced together from all the games in which Afton was in. Afton’s personality includes a lot of violence, cruelty, malevolence, and sadism. He smiles while killing children and is very demented. He hides his reality under a polite mask like many. Under his seemingly normal looks, lurks a psychopathic being that skillfully manipulates and murders innocents.
This brings us to one more question – Is William Afton Real? This cruelty confirms that the character is unreal. This not possible for a real human being to do such cruelty and be hidden from the world.
PJ Heywood says that the voice of Afton is in a way inspired by Hannibal Lecter as it remains amazingly calm even while murdering someone. He is very sadistic and dangerous. His tendencies can also be seen in his children. William is also an abusive father and a master manipulator. The backstory of Afton is not known. We do not know why Afton murders innocent children in the game without even flinching. We do not know why he is the way he is. Granted, a tragic backstory will not save him from his own sins.
